Cauthen Collaborative is a dual-faceted business dedicated to empowering individuals and organizations with grant writing expertise and connecting skilled grant writers with organizations in need. The company operates two distinct yet complementary arms:

  1. GrantCraft: A proprietary grant writing training and certification program|

  2. GrantWright: A recruitment and placement agency specializing in connecting certified grant writers with nonprofits, businesses, and agencies. Placements are organized through contracted Cauthen Collaborative services .

Students who complete the GrantCraft course with an 85% or higher grade can be invited into the GratnWright talent agency/pool for professional grant writing placements.

Hi, I’m Jody Cauthen, founder of Cauthen Collaborative.

For underemployed individuals, I provide grant writing training and certification as well as contracted placement services to non-profit organizations in need of affordable grant writing resources.

I have been working in grant management as a funding and marketing specialist for over 25 years.

I have led intricate marketing and development/funding initiatives for various local non-profit organizations including The Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship, East Greensboro NOW, the Center for Creative Economy, and Triad Stage.  At Integrity CE, LLC Head of Grants, I manage over $50M annually in for-profit medical education grant applications.

In the realm of academic entrepreneurship, I designed and launched the Arts Administration major and minor degree program/curriculum at UNCG and served as Program Director from 2014-2017 where I grew program enrollment 2150% in 3 years. If you want to get REALLY into the academic side of things, I hold a Masters degree in Arts Administration from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota and a BFA in Theatre Arts from Northern Kentucky University.

I have enjoyed my “side hustle” career as a nonprofit consultant until it was time to take the big swing and move my side hustle business a bit, more, um, forward hustle!

I have served as a moderator and participant in such conferences/seminars as The Association of Arts Administration Educators, Elevate, Wake Forest University Creativity Conference, The UNCG Bryan School of Business’s Entrepreneurship in the Arts forum, The Art of Public Memory Conference, Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC), and the Southern Entrepreneurship in the Arts annual conference.

In my spare time, I love to garden (more herbs and vegetables though I do love flowers), read fiction, amateur chef and food anthropologist, and a lover of all things involving coffee or wine.
